Guangxi
Zhuang Autonomous Region is a border region in South China. It sits
on the North Bay and looks across the straits at Hainan Province.
To its east is Guangdong Province and to the northeast is Hunan
Province. Guangxi abuts on Guizhou in the northwest and Yunnan in
the west. Vietnam is to the southwest. The capital of the autonomous
region is Nanning.
The telecommunication industry has taken off in recent years. Guangxi
Mobile now has more than 2 million users. In 2002, the industry
in Guangxi will start a new round of expansion projects in exchange,
transmission, data, support network, CDMA, and college campus networks.
It plans to add 800,000 new dial numbers distributed to new users
and 300,000 internet users. The industry will also act on requirements
for the computer network on college campus for western China, a
blueprint designed by State Education Commission, and build 1,000m
high-speed campus network for all 13 four-year colleges in the region.
Futong Group sets up a customer service center in Nanning for the
purpose of taking the advantage of the locality to offer quality
products and fast services to telecommunication carriers in the
region.
