Shanxi Province is located in the middle reaches of the Yellow River. With the land area of over 190,000 square kilometers, the province has a population of 35.70 million. There are seven prefecture-level cities and three prefectural administrative offices in three regions. The capital city is Xi'an. Xianyang, Baoji, Yan'an, Hanzhong and Tongchuan are the main cities of the province.

The city connects directly with over 160 countries and regions across the world and with over 600 cities across China. Wireless paging is quite popular now. By the end of the 10th Five-Year Plan, the sales of the telecommunication sector in the province will have jumped to 85 billion, including 20 billion from telecommunication and postal services, a 25% increase per year; telecommunication equipment manufacturing output will have risen to 65 billion, a 20% increase per year; the added-on value of the information industry will have accounted for 10% of the provincial GDP.
