¡¡(By Staff Member) PT/EXPO COMM CHINA 2002
kicked off on October 29th at China International Exhibition
Center in Beijing. More than 500 corporations from 24 nations
and areas participated in the five day exhibition. The showplace
was more than 55,000 square meters. During the session of
the expo, Futong Group made a presentation for its new generation
network solution with brand-new insight.
¡¡Sponsored by the Ministry of Information
Industry (MII), P. R. China and China Council for the Promotion
of International Trade (CCPIT), the International Communication
Equipment and Technology Exhibition in China (PT/EXPO COMM
CHINA) was specially organized by China National Postal Telecommunications
Appliances Corporation (PTAC) and China International Exhibition
Corporation (CIEC). Happening every even year, the expo is
the only international communication information exhibition
held in China at a national level. It is also the largest
exhibition ever involved in Asia under the communication information
category. Since held for the first time in 1994, this expo
is the fifth one.
¡¡For more than ten years, the information
industry in China has been developing with a steady pace that
amounts to 2 to 3 times of the national GDP growth rate. The
proportion of the communication and electronics Industry in
the GDP growth has been increased, from 1.4% in1989 to 4.2%
in 2001. A state public communication network, which covers
the whole country and connects to the world, has been preliminarily
formed with superior technologies and diversified services.
The network has jumped to the first place among networks in
the world in respect to its scope and capacity, with the level
of its technology being among the most advanced in the world.
¡¡It is due to the recent years of rapid development
of China communication Industry that the domestic communication
market turns out to be the most potential one in the world.
Particularly under the condition in which the global economy
has experienced the decline and the communication market shrunk,
the China market becomes more of a place contested by all
strategists. This communication expo has therefore been on
the focus of attention by the international communication
circle. Its size is equivalent to the one in 2000 when the
global telecommunication field was flourishing. It attracted
not only powerful and strong carriers like China Telecom,
Netcom, Unicom, Mobile, Satecom, and Railcom, but also well-known
sino-foreign telecom equipment manufacturers and information
technology companies, such as Nokia, Motorola, Ericsson, Simans,
Alcatel, UTStarcom, Fujitsu, Lucent, DTT, Zhongxing, Huawei,
and Futong Group. This fully demonstrates that there has been
an all-out confidence in the China market among companies
in the world communication landscape.
¡¡Many new technologies and equipment that
had been developed and applied within prior two years were
on the display during the session, however, what struck a
clear-cut difference from the previous expos is that the demonstration
of solutions and service will be taking up a more major stage,
instead of displaying single pieces of gears. The sight of
sophisticated satellite communication equipment, mobile phone
products and technologies, varieties of mobile phones, Blue
Tooth technology, fiberoptic communications, wiring systems,
personal communication tools, test and analysis tools, and
data transmission equipment and technologies were made possible
during the session. But what occupy the major portion of the
exhibition were network products and technologies, Internet
products and service, microwave communications, broadcast
communications, power supplies, battery equipment and products,
access products and technologies, communication software and
solutions, data warehousing technologies, electronic and mobilized
business systems, and operation and service business.
¡¡With emphasized unambiguous theme slogans
of ¡°New Network, New Business, and New Power¡± and ¡°FTTH -
Futong - New Generation Network Solution Supplier,¡± the booth
of Futong Group was novel in design and received close attentions
from visitors. A set of leading communication solutions in
the Industry was exhibited combinedly by Futong Group subsidiary
companies, Green-Net Communication Technology Co., Ltd. in
Shenzhen and Eastern Giants Technology Co., Ltd. in Shenzhen.
The set includes the Next Generation Network ¨C AnyComm IP
Network - Consolidated Services Solution, Easy-V Voice Solution,
Campus Broadband Network Pricing Operation Solution, and the
instances of application of those solutions in different places.
Other than the above, the multitalented VDSL exchanger and
the TiNet serial Ethernet exchanger, both of which have been
recently introduced by Green-Net, were also shown in the exhibition.
Showa Electric Wire & Cable Co., Ltd. of Japan presented
its most recent networking solutions as well. During the exhibition
period, Minister of MII Wu Chuanji visited the Futong booth
in person. He inquired with President of Futong Wang Jianyi
about the advancement of Futong into the information access
segment and positively encouraged the practice. Over hundreds
of patrons from all over the country paid a visit to the Futong
booth with great interest. They were encountered with detailed
introduction and demonstration of the product by the technical
staff of the company, which allowed them to more closely comprehend
the new generation network solution made at Futong Group.
